oh yes... they're legal.
I need to get one.
The problem I foresee with this car is the speedometer is digital, just a fluctuating digital NUMBER aside the needeled RPM gauge. So I could be thinking I am smoothly cruising along at 45 mph when it's 4500 RPM's and the speed is 70. I already did it when I drove it home.

Indeed. If you prefer seeing things as dials, just learn the revs in top for the various gears. Then when you're cruising you'll only need to know if the needle's in the right part of the dial.

It's what I used to do when the speedo went on one of my bikes. I knew that 5k revs was 70mph in top and 3000 was 40. didn't need a speedo. Might be helpful.
