Crazy stress dream this morning got me all spun and fucked up. Fuck fuck fuck. Not a nightmare, mind you, but just a very stressful dream where you're trying to do something and everything is going wrong, and you're really laying into some people in the dream because you are fucking angry about it. This was my experience. Being interrupted by the alarm clock at that state is just a bad way to start your day. Glad it was just a dream but still it's no good. This can exhaust you regardless of how much sleep you managed to get that night. Not used to this shit and I don't like it any more than anyone else does, I'm sure. I've said it before, my life up to this point has been lived in a safe little bubble compared to what's going on now.
Picked up some iced coffee from DD. Coffee doesn't really make you less tired, but it does make you feel a little better about being awake. Perhaps it makes the first few hours a bit less agonizing. Plus my social stop at DD is always a morning highlight.
Messing around with insane visual transitions in After Effects. I have the hot sauce to make some pretty wicked videos for people now, music, film or otherwise. Editing, mastering, the whole nine. It's a pretty exciting skillset. Between this, photoshop, and my 3d knowledge - which is very quickly coming back to me - (not to mention my antique 20th century art school degree) I should be a force to be reckoned with on the job market once I decide to step out of my FF shell and take over the world. In the meantime, shaking the rust and sharpening my skills - makes work at FF a lot more creative. The hours go by quicker.
Gainesville beckons. I love going up there, and often when I'm not there I wish I was there. Next visit will be the Saturday after Thanksgiving for the tailgate to the game vs. FSU. When I go, I never wanna leave. I may start beating up the internets and the locals of Gainesville for gainful employment for my curious return to the woods of North Florida. My lease is up in 2 months and I'm getting a pretty itchy wanderlust. Nothing is for sure, of course, but wow. Of course, if I moved, I would take all of you with me. Gainful employment in my favorite college town would be a hard offer to pass up. I was talking to an old friend from college today who I hadn't heard from in awhile. He says go up to UF and secure a job teaching DIY Rock N Roll 101, and just soak it up: the parties, the friends, the food, the beer, the music, the venues, the kids... How fucking amazing would that be? I'd be happy doing whatever as long as it has steady pay and some health benefits. Gainesville is Timb Utopia.
I needed a pretty serious cheer-up today so I put together a nice playlist of albums to pull me out of my rut. The final song on the new Alice CD really gets me. It's Jerry Cantrell's touching tribute to Layne, title track "Black Gives Way to Blue". Alice is never good for a cheer-up, but everything else on my list is more an upper. The album is growing on me slowly but surely.
Beck - Modern Guilt Alice in Chains - Black Gives Way to Blue Digital Underground - Sex Packets Prince - 1999 Self - Best of Self according to Sarah vol. 1 Love Sarah mix CD SURGE Feed the Rush Promo CD (given to me by Josh in 1997) Tubeway Army
That's where I'm at now. I miss posting to LJ sometimes. I haven't forgotten about you, LJ.
The weather got ideal here. That means the rest of the country is frozen in 6 feet of ice. Enjoy it you guys. We pay the price for your nice weather all summer, and the hot weather was especially persistent this year.
Sondra is coming over for a vegan version of Pabst Tacos tonight, a screening of Rob Zombie's masterwork The Devil's Rejects, and then over to Ronnie's for the mandate.
Also been playing a lot of NCAA 09 lately. The "campus legend" mode is especially fun because you don't have to pick the plays or play more than one position on the field. Just go out there, take direction from the coach and get it done. Learn what it's like to be a 21 year old virgin and still totally kick everyone's ass all the way to the Heisman. It's amazing.
UF plays FIU early on Saturday (calibrate with the nozzle), then I'm flying out to Pensacola for a day, back early on Monday. It's definitely the holidays. I'm trying to put some pennies together and get up to see Andi before the new year. Here's hoping.

http://news.bme.com/2009/11/16/high-five/ I'm a little surprised by the email I just got. Considering I'm sitting in a hotel on Maui and Jasn is apparently here working out of Pacific Roots. I'll have to investigate further! Unless I'm confused, Jasn has been all around the US, Canada and now out here on the ... |

We debated the click through aspect of it and I was hoping this one would past the test. I'll give you a hint. It's either a penis tattoo or a giant clitoris tattoo. You be ... |

http://news.bme.com/2009/11/16/it-was-a-bear-i-swear/ http://news.bme.com/?p=22446 Dave wrote me the other day to let me know he’d redone his facial scars. Apparently they didn’t work as he’d wanted the first time. Quinten from Kalima Body Piercing Studio in Worthing, England “burnt him a little deeper for a better scar.” He also included a photo of him and John “fooling around” after the branding was complete. I hope to see these healed and I hope they work out this time. I can’t imagine it’s a procedure you want to do a third time. Practice makes perfect, I suppose.

More pictures after the jump.

There I am dweebing out with Atom's glasses after the Rob Zombie show tonight.
I totally slacked on getting tickets when I first heard about the show back in September and by the time I got around to actually trying to get any it was totally sold out. Upon waking today I had messages notifying me of a ticket that was available from a friend so I was good to go. Once I arrived at the venue I found a guy selling tickets out front and obtained one from him for Atom and he met me there and a lovely time was had.
I think Rob Zombie is fantastic, & he's one of the only people from the 90's who still rocks out like a fucking champ unlike a lot of performers who either disappeared or turned into shadows of their former selves. The show tonight was great, glad I was able to go.

All of my pictures turned out pretty shabby due to being kind of in the back so that's really the only decent one I have.
This weekend was pretty fun/productive. I went out to Subversion on Friday. Hung out with some of my peeps & had a good time. Saturday I did a bunch of cleaning & then 7 hours of studying up on photography related shit, and doing photoshop tutorials to better my skills. ...and then today was the RZ show & then another closet sorting/laundry extravaganza. I'm pretty sure I've successfully decided what I'll definitely be keeping & what I'm getting rid of at this point. I have a giant pile of things to sell. My collection of clothes honestly astounds me. It's taken me 3 years to go through everything and I've had countless giant sales and I STILL have TONS AND TONS of shit. WTF @ my previous life of a total shopaholic. I havent bought anything new in ages.
I'm drowning in pictures from events of late. I'm going to make it a point to try and do a photo post every day this week until I'm all caught up. Just too much to do outside of computer land lately.
Speaking of computer land that brings my thoughts back to myspace & more joyous offerings of humanity:

thedivinerpg is a brand new panfandom RPG with a twist you've never seen before. We just opened this November 1st and we are looking for a cast of characters from the Lost fandom to come join us for some otherworldly fun.
Premise ♦ Rules ♦ Cast ♦ Application ♦ FAQs ♦ Members & PBs ♦ Wishlist ♦ Torment Log
thedivinerpg ♦ pubparadiso ♦ thecomedy In the 14th century, Dante Alighieri gave the world a glimpse into Hell. But, like medieval Florence and everything around it, Hell has changed, and unlike Earth not necessarily for the better. However even across the span of centuries some things remain steadfast – the despair is tantamount, the torture ironic, pity is scarce, reprieve impossible – Abandon all hope ye who enter here.
This is a literature and live-action panfandom RPG that takes character torture to a whole new level.
If you have any questions or concerns feel free to comment to this entry or contact the mods at either madestatic@gmail.com or morbidly.gwenny@gmail.com.
